Act 3 Scene 5 Summary

In this scene Hecate is upset with the witches met with Ma berth without her. she says “How dare you interfere with Macbeth In riddles and affairs of death” This means she is upset as they interfered in this about death with Macbeth and possibly give him the wrong destiny. She tells the three witches to meet her at the Pit of Acheron to tell Macbeth his destiny. The scene ends with the first witch telling the rest of them to be quick as Hecate will be back.

How has Macbeth changed over the last 3 acts?

Macbeth has changed a lot. He went from a brave and noble soldier to a King who has now killed someone. He killed someone to become king, which he now feels very guilty about. He went from Brave to cowardly as he has shown this by postponing the killing of King Duncan.

  1. Zeehan,

I think this is an effective reading of both MAcbeth (the character) and the scene.

    What next?
    1) You must begin to explore the language used in the quotation(s) you have chosen – how have anguage dvices been used to enhance meanings? Why? How might this affect the audience?
    2) Refer back to at least two earlier scenes involving Macbeth – show specifically how his character has changed.
