In this scene, Macbeth says why to try to fight and die. Macduff then tells Macbeth to face him. He calls him a hellhound. They then start to fight and Macbeth starts talking, say he is wasting his time. He thinks he cannot be killed by Macduff as no man of woman born can harm him, but Macduff was not of woman born, he was ‘untimely ripped’ which means that he was ripped out of his mother’s womb. This frightens Macbeth but he does not back down. Macbeth then says he will not be taunted so he carries on fighting. Macduff then enters with Macbeth’s head and announces that everyone is free from his tyranny.
